A Vision Ahead of Its Time
Born out of necessity, Fire Fogging Systems was established in 1990 to tackle the monumental challenges faced by UK Fire & Rescue Services and landowners contending with forest and wildland fires. When Chief Fire Officer Sandy Loman and Area Commander Bert Stewart of the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service (then known as Grampian Fire Brigade) sought the expertise of Fire Fogging System’s Chairman Denis Burns — an entrepreneur with two decades of experience in water technology — a groundbreaking transformation in fire-fighting methodology was set in motion. Denis not only accepted the challenge; he revolutionized the approach to battling fires. Through his vision, resolve, and unwavering commitment, Fire Fogging Systems emerged as a method that combats fires swiftly and effectively, utilizing minimal water and causing minimal damage — an indisputable fact.
Dedicated to Progress: Research & Development
Substantial investment in Research and Development, in partnership with the UK’s Fire and Rescue Service and the Ministry of Defence (MoD), has fueled our journey. Drawing from their expertise, we’ve achieved remarkable breakthroughs during trials and tests across various domains. A standout achievement was enhancing water efficiency, allowing just three minutes of water to stretch for an astonishing 40 minutes. Collaborative trials with the MoD led to significant advancements in combatting A and B type fires, enabling Fire Fogging Systems to swiftly suppress incidents involving tires, fuel, and vehicles.
